{"id":6433,"date":"2018-12-17T03:37:35","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T03:37:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/?p=6433"},"modified":"2018-12-17T03:37:35","modified_gmt":"2018-12-17T03:37:35","slug":"porsche-and-iracing-team-up-to-create-esports-world-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/porsche-and-iracing-team-up-to-create-esports-world-championship\/","title":{"rendered":"Porsche and iRacing team up to create esports world championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Porsche has taken its first steps into the eSports world, teaming up with iRacing to create the Porsche iRacing World Championship Series, featuring a $100 thousand prize pool. <\/p>\n<p>Porsche, one of the world&#8217;s most-renowned luxury car manufacturers, will follow in the footsteps of <a title=\"Formula One series back for season 2\" href=\"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/formula-1-esports-series-back-for-season-2\/\">Formula One<\/a>, NASCAR and other sporting leagues around the world that have established eSports competitions.<\/p>\n<p>The new Series was announced over the weekend at the Porsche Factory in Leipzig, Germany. <\/p>\n<p>iRacing Executive Vice President and executive producer, Steve Myers, teamed together with Porsche Vice President for Marketing, Dr. Kjell Gruner, to talk about an exciting future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe couldn\u2019t be more thrilled to have Porsche as a partner for the Porsche iRacing World Championship Series,\u201d Myers said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPorsche is more and more involved with eSports and racing simulations. Putting together a world championship like this one is important evidence of our increasing commitment to the sport,\u201d said Dr Gruner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be able to offer a $100,000 prize pool shows how far we have come. We wouldn\u2019t be able to do this without the fantastic partnership we have with Porsche.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Porsche iRacing series will feature the best eracers from around the globe, fighting it out on the track in the virtual 911 GT3 Cup car.
